Alocasia Cucullata

The Alocasia Cucullata ‘Hooded Dwarf’ is a compact Alocasia known for being smaller and easier to care for than most others in the genus.

 Its unique leaves, held atop fleshy stalks, are formed in the shape of a teardrop, or, according to some, open palms, known sometimes as Buddha’s Palm. Alocasia (Alocasia spp.) produces large leaves that earn some varieties the common name elephant ear. 

 It is a tropical plant grown primarily for its edible corms, the root vegetables most commonly known as taro. 

The popularity of this herbal medicine in recent times is based on the premise that plants contain natural substances that can promote health and alleviate illness.
